Beloved Amy

The Song's Story

The story of "Beloved Amy" began shortly before Amy and I were married, when I started writing a song simply called "Beloved." I never finished it. Life moved on, other things took my attention, and the song remained little more than an unfinished idea.

Then I discovered Suno, and it was a game-changer. I finally had a practical way to bring the lyrics I had written into musical form without the enormous cost of studio time, musicians, and production. I arranged my first song, When Thunder Rolls, and then I took another look at "Beloved."

There wasn't much of the original song to work with, maybe part of a verse, perhaps a pre-chorus. More importantly, by then my perspective had changed. I wasn't writing about the woman I was about to marry anymore. I was writing from inside the marriage we had built together—about the woman I know now, the way I see her, the love I have for her, and what she means to me.

So I started over.

And "Beloved Amy" was born.
